Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Group

Jaimelyn Roets, LCSW will be leading our Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) group, which is designed to teach kids, teens, and parents skills to manage their anxiety. CBT continues to be the gold-standard treatment for anxiety. As opposed to individual therapy, our groups offer unique perspectives and support from other families that promote connectedness and increase motivation for treatment. This group runs on Thursdays afternoons for eight consecutive weeks and is held in person at Flourish Psychology and is co-facilitated by Meggean Boisvert, LCSW.

The first four weeks of the group are spent building skills, including feeling identification, emotion regulation, relaxation strategies, social skill building, thinking realistically, and problem-solving. The last four weeks are spent practicing these skills as they relate to your child's specific needs through Exposure and Response Prevention.

Ages for this group range from 8 to 18 years old, and groups are broken into older and younger participants. We keep our groups smaller so each family can address their child's individual needs.
